Bobby is correct, of course (notice, no apostroff's). I also like the misuse of quotation marks. I drive by "Jim's" TV Repair daily. I mean, "Jim's?" At least the apostroff is correct. On the other hand, "Jim's" real name might be "Fred," in which case it might be Chuck, a triple cut-out.
My absolute favourite apostocrime is the one cited in Eats Shoots and Leaves, to whit, a graffiti that read "Nigger's oout" beneath which some wag had sprayed "But he be back soon".
At least they didn't try to use apostrophes. "Its' alarmed".
ReplyDeleteApostrophe crimes in this country have got to fucking stop. I'm talking primarily about using it thus with nouns: car's, dog's.
I WILL reach a breaking point and it will be very hard to explain to a court.
