A great catch, no question.

I suspect you were pulling for the Mets; I'm a Cardinals fan by default this series, the Astros not quite pulling things out this season.

A great game for fans of pitching, no matter one's loyalties.

My family's from STL, so I was rooting for the Cards. But, damn, that was one hell of a catch.

from Josh Levin in Slate today:

"I was elated. And then the Mets lost the game and lost the series. The catch became known, at least to me, as that catch in the goddamn game where Heilman gave up a home run to Yadier freakin' Molina. Endy Chávez, suddenly, resumed being Endy Chávez."

That, I imagine, was Neddie's state of mind, as well.

All I can say, is neener, neener, neener. Gonna party like its 1968, and I may have a ticket for game 6, if it goes that far... gotta love those St. Louis Baseball Cardinals.

muify - to increase one's bovinity.

Being a fam of neither team but being the sworn enemy of Tony LaRussa, I was quite unhappy with the result.

Endy's catch was the baseball version of the Grecian urn, though.
