WASHINGTON - One day after President Bush vowed to reduce America's dependence on Middle East oil by cutting imports from there 75 percent by 2025, his energy secretary and national economic adviser said Wednesday that the president didn't mean it literally....

From what I have read we don't get a large percentage from that region, anyway. So, even if he was meaning it it wouldn't have amounted to much.
This is why I have stopped listening to the Union speeches. They are just rallies.
